Changes to Home Care Packages: Implications for Governance

15 March 2016

Reform in the aged care sector has been continuing for nearly a decade. Never has an industry been the subject of such a large paradigm shift, moving from a regulated grants based market to a consumer driven competitive environment. Home Care Today has developed the resource Changes to Home Care Packages: Implications for Governance to assist boards of small to medium sized Home Care Package providers to plan for the changes that took place in February 2017.  The aim of the resource is to identify key issues and risks so that boards can take a systematic and strategic approach to future planning.

This resource was developed through a series of interviews with key aged care and disability sector stakeholders throughout the latter half of 2015. The resource is not an exhaustive governance guide but rather a synthesis of emerging strategic considerations for boards overseeing Home Care Packages.
