COTA Australia provided brief comments on the Retirement Income Covenant Position Paper issued by Treasury and broadly supported the proposals in the Position Paper. In particular COTA Australia supports the two Covenant Principals and the eight Supporting Principles.

This Senate Inquiry is on an issue of importance to many older Australians - mobility scooters.  Indeed, Scooters Australia claimed in 2009 that the overwhelming proportion of mobility scooter users are in the 70+ age group and in fact, in the previous few years, most purchasers were aged over 80.

COTA Australia provided a brief response to the Department of Social Service's consultation on its Position Paper 'Means Test Rules for Lifetime Retirement Income Streams' released 16 January 2018 and revised 7 February 2018.

COTA Australia provides brief comments to Treasury regarding its Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) on fees for paper bills, further to meeting with Treasury officers in December 2017 to discuss the paper and issues.
