The strategy needs to precisely articulate its purpose and explain how this will be advanced over the coming decade to ensure the nation a more integrated, evidence based, knowledge driven response to maximising preventive health and wellbeing outcomes for Australians across their life span.

COTA Australia, in collaboration with CHF, RANZCR, AMSIG and ADIA wrote to the Australian Government raising concerns with a recent recommendation to prevent people 50 years and over from accessing MRI’s on their knees unless recommended by a specialist.

The issues identified in this submission impact many older Australians and the measures outlined here to address these issues have the potential to improve the lives of a large and growing proportion of Australians.
