Most older people want to live in their own homes for as long as they can, not in aged care facilities. This can be achieved for many by finding the right combination of formal and informal support for their individual circumstances.
COTA Australia supports a consistent national Care and Support Sector Code of Conduct that has a clearly defined scope, and consistent processes that establish the behaviours, practice and culture of aged care services including management, governing persons, and workers.
Recently we asked you to participate in a short survey on older worker issues. We appreciated the 837 responses we received, especially reading the over 300 people who also shared comments and personal stories. Read the report here
