This DVD has been produced by the Workforce Innovation Network in the Central Coast of NSW. It is designed to introduce staff to the changes that will result from the introduction of consumer directed care.
Australia’s population is ageing and this will accelerate as the baby boomers move into older age. In 2011 there were 3 million people over the age of 65, making up around 14 per cent of the population and this figure will rise to over 8 million in 2050 or 25 per cent of the population.
COTA Australia is the national policy vehicle of the eight State and Territory Councils on the Ageing (COTA) in NSW, Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, ACT and the Northern Territory.
COTA supports the needs for a broad inquiry into the financial system as there is some evidence that the current arrangements are not adequate to deal with the increasing size and complexity of financial services in Australia. COTA often receives correspondence from older people.
