The Consumer Advisory Panel (CAP) was established in 1999. CAP advises ASIC on current issues faced by retail investors and consumers in the financial services and credit industries. CAP also informs ASIC’s surveillance, enforcement, policy and financial education initiatives.
The ACCC established the Consumer Consultative Committee in 2001 to provide a forum through which consumer protection issues could be addressed collaboratively between our organisation and consumer representatives.
ACCAN has produced a guide, Making the Right Call, that summarises your rights as a phone and internet customer as outlined in the Telecommunications Consumer Protections Code and other relevant laws, regulations and industry codes.
