Leading peak seniors' advocacy organisation COTA Australia welcomed several additional commitments to the continuing aged care reform process in tonight's Federal Budget but expressed concern about delays in moving on key reforms.

With the holiday season around the corner, COTA Australia – the leading advocacy organisation for older people - is calling on all Australians to help combat loneliness by connecting with their older neighbours, friends, and family in their communities.

COTA Australia tonight welcomed the very substantial package of measures in tonight’s Federal Budget that will fire the starting gun on a substantial overhaul of the aged care system over the next five years, supported by additional expenditure of $17.7 Billion over four years.

Leading seniors’ advocacy body, COTA Australia, warmly welcomed the Government’s announcement it will bring forward funding for 10,000 more home care packages, providing support and care to older Australians at home - bringing the total number of additional packages over the last year to 40,000.
